Bank of America Online Banking Services Nationwide “Outage” and Restoration

The supposed to be “24/7” Bank of America Online Banking services went on nationwide “outage” on Tuesday afternoon, restored and then unavailable again after a few hours. This was reported on US news sites March 1, and talked about extensively on Twitter.

Customers were greeted with “the service is temporarily unavailable” message when they accessed the Bank of America log in and tried to transact business. Tara Burke the spokesperson of Bank of America said that the intermittent service was a “routine update” and that there were no customer security dangers. The company also denies that its an outage but only a weekend routine update.

As of March 1, 5 pm EST, Bank of America Online Banking services were restored. US consumers out of the 57 million, are hoping the service would now be stable and not be “temporarily unavailable” again after a few hours.
