Manila, Philippines – The Bangko Sentral of the Philippines (BSP) releases new Philippine money, including the new P500 bill showing the late former President Corazon ‘Cory’ Aquino now with his husband Ninoy, as reported on GMA News website on Thursday.

As shown in the photo below, Cory’s image was placed on the right side of her husband, the late Senator Benigno ‘Ninoy’ Aquino, who was assassinated on August 21, 1983, that eventually led to the peaceful EDSA People Power 1 in 1986.

According to BSP, the newly designed P500 bill with Cory and Ninoy (President Noynoy Aquino or PNoy’s parents) together is only a part of its project to redesign all Philippine peso bills.

A total of six denominations; P20, P50, P100, P200, P500, and P1,000 bills have now have new designs, which were especially designed to upgrade their security features so the public would easily detect if the money is real or fake.

PNoy led the launching of the new bank notes in Malacañang, who also lead the launching of the new Philippine bills last month, bearing his signature as President of the country.
