TOME, N.M. – Bobby Bradley, a 9-year-old boy from New Mexico was said to be the youngest hot air balloon pilot to fly by himself on Saturday, June 4, 2011, international news reported.

Bobby‘s parents, Tami and Troy Bradley were said to be a well-known balloonists in Albuquerque. Before the said event on Saturday, it was said that Bobby had been practicing takeoffs and landing in an ultra-light balloon being tethered to the ground.

ABC News reported that Bobby was joined by three other balloons in his 26 minutes flight to keep him company, whose pilots included a designated balloon examiner for the Federal Aviation Administration. Family, friends and a crowd of 50 supporters cheered on him from the ground as they took off.

Reports said that Bobby landed safely after his 26 minutes flight.

“It was amazing, it was the best feeling ever,” Bobby was quoted saying in an interview by KOB News 4.

Meanwhile, Guinness World Records is not considering Bobby’s success flight as a world record because the feet was based on age, according to reports.
