Ateneo Blue Eagles Wins 4-peat vs FEU in UAAP Season 74 Finals Game 2

Ateneo de Manila University (AdMU) Blue Eagles wins Game 2 of the 2011 UAAP Season 74 Men’s basketball finals versus Far Eastern University (FEU) Tamaraws, 82-69, to complete a historic fourth consecutive UAAP title, according to a report at ABS-CBNnews.com today, October 1, 2011. The Blue Eagles swept the UAAP best-of-three Finals series against the Tamaraws, 2-0, on their way to its 4-peat UAAP crown with head coach Norman Black.

Rookie of the Year Kiefer Ravena led the Blue Eagles offense with help coming from first game hero and PS Bank UAAP Finals MVP Nico Salva, seven-footer rookie Greg Slaughter and veteran player Emman Monfort.

FEU put up a gallant stand against Ateneo by putting up a highly physical game. The Tamaraws, led by Aldrech Ramos, RR Garcia and Terrence Romeo made a run late in the 2nd quarter to take 36-35 halftime lead against the Blue Eagles.

In the third quarter, Ateneo made a 12-0 run to take a 49-38 and never looked back.

Salva had a finals average of 19.4 points on 78% field goal shooting. He had a perfect first game when Ateneo won Game 1, 82-64.

Quarter scores: 23-18, 35-36, 57-45, 82-69.
