Wendy’s/Arby’s Group Inc. is considering Arby’s restaurant to go on sale to concentrate more on Wendy’s hamburger chain, international news reported.

Reports said that Arby’s restaurants have generated softer sales and were said to have drag the overall company results. The option to sell Arby’s was said to help the management in sharpening its focus on expanding the 6,500 stores of Wendy’s which was said to have performed better than Arby’s.

Nelson Peltz, the company’s chairman said in a statement that the Wendy’s brand, given its relative size and scope, is the key driver of shareholder return. The company believed that they should focus on the execution of the compelling growth opportunities at Wendy’s.

Larry Miller, an RBC Capital Markets analyst in Atlanta told BusinessWeek.com that Arby’s may fetch $600 million, or about 6 times earnings before interest, taxes, depreciation and amortization.
