According to the invitation card being circulated online as shown here, a semi-opened calendar card with a date ‘March 2’ is revealing a photo of an Apple iPad at the back, and with a teaser saying ‘Come see what 2011 will be the year of’.

Apparently, the said media event will be held at the Yerba Buena Center for the Arts, in San Francisco at 10 a.m. (US time), where the first iPad was launched back in January 2010.

As reported earlier, production of Apple iPad 2 started in early February and being rumored to be launched on April 3, 2011, the first anniversary of the first iPad.

Although there were no actual reports from Apple of what iPad 2 will look like, it is being rumored to be thinner and lighter than the first one and will be available through AT&T and Verizon.

In addition, Apple iPad 2 was said to be having 2 cameras (front and back) but the display resolution will be the same as the first one.

However, Apple CEO Steve Jobs is not being expected to attend since he is on ‘sick leave’, although he was seen last week in Silicon Valley dining with US President Barack Obama and other high-profile technical icons.
