Apple Ranks First Among World’s Most Valuable Brands

According to published report of rankings, Apple, with an estimated brand value of more than $153bn, has already surpassed Google to become the world’s most valuable brand.

Furthermore, above-mentioned report verifies that Apple has increased its brand value by $137bn since 2006 when the BrandZ rankings were launched.

Reports also attest that it was the success of the iPad tablet and iPhone mobile that have surged Apple’s brand value to overtake that of the search engine company.

Similarly, Millward Brown, a subsidiary of advertising company WPP, confirms that for the last four years, Google has dominated the BrandZ Top 100 Ranking of the most valuable global brands.

As reviewed by Peter Walshe, global BrandZ director at Millward Brown, said Apple’s success reflected the fact that companies see its products as beneficial aside from being highly desired.

As mentioned in the report, Mr. Walshe said, “The anecdotal evidence is that if employees are given the choice of two similar jobs they opt for the one with better technology for its employees — for example an iPad,”.  Apple, he added, had also succeeded in emulating luxury goods brands, in that making its products more expensive had increased their desirability.

Founded on reports, this ranking covers everything from cars to clothing and banks to telecoms providers.  Additionally, the BrandZ index computes brand value on various aspects, including an estimate of the brand’s contribution to earnings, valuation of intangible assets, measures of customer perception and an estimate of growth potential.

Record also confirms that technology companies namely Apple, Google, IBM, Microsoft, AT&T and China Mobile dominate the top 10 places.
