Apple event to be shown at Apple TV and website as it happens, Apple online store down temporarily

The Apple event (or the so-called iPad mini event) will be broadcast live at Apple TV and on its official website, which will happen this Tuesday, October 23, 2012 and will start at 10 a.m. PT (1 p.m. ET). Apple.com store is now down temporarily, saying that “We’re busy updating the Apple store for you and will be back soon.”

As announced by Apple on its official website on early Tuesday morning, a new channel appeared on Apple TV called Apple Events, where the much-awaited Apple event will be shown. But for those who do not want to watch it there, the same Apple event will also available at Apple.com.

According to Apple, the event on their website requires Safari 4 or later on Mac OS X v10.6 or later; Safari on iOS 4.2 or later. For Apple TV users, they should have the second- or third-generation Apple TV with software 5.0.2 or later, in order for them to capture the ‘iPad mini event’ as it happens.

Meanwhile, Apple decided to shutdown its online store in preparation of their media event while its location at San Jose‘s California Theatre. The company sent an event invitation to the media last week, with the tagline, “We’ve got a little more to show you,” where they are being expected to announce their new products.

As reported earlier, latest Apple rumors said that Apple is likely to unveil the iPad mini, which may be available in 16 different iPad mini configurations. 9 to 5 Mac reported last Saturday that they believe that the smaller iPad will most likely to cost from $250 for the 8GB to $650 for the 64GB.

In addition, Apple is also being expected to announce the new 13-inch Retina Display MacBook Pro, a refreshed iMac, Mac Mini, the iPad 3.5 with the new 8-pin Lightning dock connector, as well as an updated version of iTunes and iBooks.
