s noted at Glamour.com this Tuesday, December 4, 2012, Anne Hathaway talked to Eve Ensler, founder of One Billion Rising, a worldwide movement that aims to end violence against women, and she shared her thoughts of being newly wed, her body, among others, admitting that she lost 25 lbs for her upcoming film.
“There’s no magic bullet; there’s no pill that you take that makes everything great and makes you happy all the time. I’m letting go of those expectations, and that’s opening me up to moments of transcendent bliss. But I still feel the stress over ‘Am I thin enough? Am I too thin? Is my body the right shape?'” Anne told Eve.
“If I’m honest, yes. There’s an obsessive quality to it that I thought I would’ve grown out of by now. It’s an ongoing source of shame for me.” Hathaway added, who earlier decided to have her hair cut short for her role as a single mother in the movie Les Miserables, to be released in the US on December 25, 2012 (Christmas Day).
Hathaway, who married actor and jewelry designer Adam Shulman in Big Sur, California last September 29, also talked about her willingness to participate in the One Billion Rising, a one-day event to happen on February 14, 2013, wherein one billion women around the world are being invited to join and dance together for a cause.
“A cause like One Billion Rising is something I want to scream about…In One Billion Rising you have activists and thinkers and “celebrities.” But I’m an actress. The celebrity thing just happened.” Hathaway said, with the full interview featured on the January 2013 issue of Glamour magazine, available in news stands this Wednesday, December 12.
