As noted by THR on Monday, November 19, 2012, Anne Hathaway, along with Naomi Watts, Helen Hunt, Amy Adams, Rachel Weisz, Marion Cotillard, and Sally Field sat down with them and talked about their biggest fears, their worst auditions, the roles they fought for, and the secrets of their successes in Hollywood.
According to the report, the seven award contenders were interviewed for THR magazine’s ‘Actress Roundtable‘ theme, which was held at Siren Studios in Hollywood last October 22, where each of them had a photo shoot in solo and all of them together.
“She gave me an image. My mom and I were talking about the idea that Fantine has lit a match, and she’s just watching it burn down.” Anne Hathaway said, when asked if she got an advice from her mother on her role in her latest film, the movie adaptation of ‘Les Miserables,’ where she plays the role of a single mother.
“And she needs to blow it out and let in the darkness. It was amazing to have that conversation not with an acting teacher, not with a director, but with your mother. I’m the only one here who’s not a mother. I hope to join the ranks soon.” Hathaway added, who had her hair cut short for her role as Fantine in the movie.
In another instance, THR asked all of them on how fame has changed their lives. Adams, 38, who has a girl named Aviana Olea Le Gallo born in May 2010 to Darren Le Gallo, admitted that she has to control herself with the paparazzi, particularly on the privacy of her child.
“I’m thinking about that because I really want to have a baby, and my husband and I are like, ‘Where are we gonna live?'” Anne Hathaway responded. Marion Cotillard told her to go to France, saying that they have protecting laws there.
