Ann Curry’s call to help Haiti lead the list of Top 10 Most Powerful Tweets of 2010 or #Hindsight2010, as published on Twitter’s official blog on Tuesday; a day after the list of Top 10 Twitter Trends for 2010 was announced.

Last January, American reporter Ann Curry posted on Twitter eventually convinced the U.S. Air Force to allow a plane with a team of Doctors Without Borders physicians to land in Haiti to assist the victims of the 7.0 magnitude earthquake. This tweet became the most powerful tweet of 2010.

The second most powerful tweet this year, according to Twitter, is the first tweet of US President Barack Obama, and at the same time welcoming Russian President Medvedev to Twitter.

Meanwhile, triathlete Leigh Fazzina’s tweet as she asked for help when she crashed her bike in a Connecticut forest landed on the third spot. Apparently, calls from all over the country came in and an ambulance was said to have arrived in the area in minutes.

Other powerful tweets that made them to the Top 10 most powerful tweets includes sports and election related, a spoof of the oil spill in the Gulf of Mexico, and the resignation of Sun Microsystem CEO Jonathan Schwartz.

The announcement of the engagement of Prince William and Kate Middleton landed on the sixth spot, while the tenth place went to Conan O’Brien announcing that he is on his way for a two-month comedy tour.
