The red bird will be the Luke Skywalker and being joined by the rest of the cast to be portrayed by the other birds; while the evil pigs will play the part of the evil Empire.

“This is the best Angry Birds game we’ve ever done. It’s the best parts of Angry Birds with all new cutting-edge gameplay set in in a galaxy far, far away. The Force is definitely strong with this one.” Peter Vesterbacka, the Mighty Eagle and CMO of Rovio, was quoted in the report, adding that he is a Star Wars fan himself.

“Both Star Wars and Angry Birds share the instant and irresistible appeal of hands-on fun. People seem to instinctively know what to do when handed a lightsaber or a bird in a slingshot, so this is a natural combination.” Colum Slevin, Vice President, Head of Studio Operations for Lucasfilm Ltd., said.

In addition, Rovio said that there will be a huge retail launch for Angry Birds Star Wars, wherein Halloween costumes merchandise, apparel, action figures, and collectible plush toys will be available at select retailers beginning Sunday, October 28.
