WBC Welterweight champion Andre Berto won against Freddy Hernandez by knockout in round one and says “Pacquiao can be hit”, as published at Boxing Scene on Saturday.

Berto, from Florida, is still the undefeated WBC Welterweight title holder, as he defended his crown when he nailed down Hernandez of Mexico in round one with his left hook and a straight jab.

Although Hernandez managed to get up before the referee finishes the count 10, the fight was eventually stopped.

The 147-pound fight, which was held at that MGM Grand in Las Vegas and was televised in HBO on Saturday, ended at two minutes and seven seconds of round one, giving Berto with a record of 21 knockouts out of his 27 wins.

But before his fight with Hernandez, Berto told the news that Manny Pacquiao can be hit.

Manny Pacquiao is extremely talented, but he can be hit. You can see in his last two fights that he can be hit easy with jabs, the right hand. But he has such a high punch output that a lot of guys would rather stay on that defense mode.” Berto apparently told Boxing Scene.

“I think if he has someone in front of him that brings that type of speed to the table, and moves around, not someone who is flat-footed and just stands right in front of him”. He added.

Top Rank was said to be considering Andre Berto as one of the possible opponents of Pacquiao in 2011, according to Boxing Scene.

The Andre Berto- Freddy Hernandez fight was a co-feature bout for the Juan Manuel Marquez vs Michael Katsidis fight, where Marquez won by knockout in round nine.
