A news anchor proposed on air to his girlfriend on Thursday, December 6, 2012, several news sites reported that day.
According to reports, Mark Rivera, a reporter at WAND-TV in Illinois proposed live on air to his girlfriend of about 3 years, Alissa Groeninger. Groeninger was told she would be inteviewed about her role as a journalist at The State Journal Register when she was invited as a studio guest.
However, instead of getting interviewed and asked questions about her role as a journalist, Rivera asked her “the most important question I’ve ever asked anyone in my whole life.”
“I know you thought you were here to be asked a lot of different questions… but really I only have one question to ask you… Will you marry me?” Rivera asked Groeninger down on one knee presenting her with an engagement ring.
Groeninger, surprised, jumped out of her chair and answered, “Of course, I will.”
