Amy Adams to play Lois Lane in new Superman movie

Amy Adams was chosen to play as Lois Lane in the new Superman movie, opposite Henry Cavill, who will play the lead role, as the new Superman.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, Amy Adams will do the role of Lois Lane, the iconic journalist tandem of Clark Kent in the Daily Planet newspaper.

Adams, 36, is the latest cast in the upcoming Superman reboot from Warner Bros. and Legendary Pictures, and joins Kevin Costner and Diane Lane, as Jonathan Kent and Martha Kent, respectively.

The new Superman movie, which will be directed by Zack Snyder and has a tentative title of Superman: The Man of Steel, and is currently set for release in December 2012.

“Second only to Superman himself, the question of who will play Lois Lane is arguably what fans have been most curious about,” Zack Snyder was quoted as saying at The Hollywood Reporter.

“So we are excited to announce the casting of Amy Adams, one of the most versatile and respected actresses in films today. Amy has the talent to capture all of the qualities we love about Lois: smart, tough, funny, warm, and ambitious and, of course, beautiful.” Zack Snyder added.

Amy Adams had ‘Drop Dead Gorgeous‘ as her first movie appearance back in 1999, and received award nominations in certain films including Junebug in 2005 and Doubt in 2008.
