Amir Khan beats Marcos Maidana by unanimous decision on Saturday (Sunday, Manila time) in Mandalay Bay, Las Vegas, which made Khan to retain as the WBA Light-Welterweight champion of the world.

The 24-year old boxer successfully defended his title over Maidana and his third successful title defense, but was brought to the hospital after the fight, in which experts say a tough fight for both fighters.

The British boxing champion was able to knockdown his opponent just almost the end of the first round, but Maidana survived until the 12th round with a close fight.

The Argentine boxer even made a nice come back on the 10th round particularly in last minutes but Khan was so strong and survived the hooks from Maidana.

In the end, Amir Khan won the judges scores unanimously with 114-111 for both Judges Jerry Roth and C.J. Ross while Glenn Trowbridge scored 113-112, also in favor of Khan.

Maidana came to a point that he thought he won the fight, but later accepted the decision and admitted in an interview that it was a ‘good fight’.

Meanwhile, Amir Khan‘s trainer Freddie Roach says his Bolton boxer may be good enough to win over beat Floyd Mayweather Jr after one more victory.

As ESPN news reported, Coach Freddie Roach is convinced that Khan can beat Mayweather Jr after a few more improvements.

Next month, Tim Bradley and Devon Alexander will fight for the WBO light-welterweight title and Roach said Khan is likely to fight the winner, then with Mayweather Jr.
