American Idol Scotty McCreery, one of the Top 3 finalists of AI Season 10, had a Welcome Home concert in Garner, North Carolina, on May 14 where close to 30,000 people watched as the 17 year old country singer performed. This was reported by US Local news sites, May 14 & 15, 2011.

He sang  several songs, “The River “, “Gone”, “Letters from Home”,  when his idol, Josh Turner, surprised him by singing the second line of his hit song “Your Man”.  All McCreery could say with the pleasant surprise was,

“Oh my God! Oh my goodness!”

It can be recalled that McCreery had sang the song several times in American Idol and was his audition song, as well. Reportedly, this has helped in promoting the popularity of the song.

Mayor Ronnie Williams of Garner has proclaimed May 14 as the “Scotty McCreery Day” and has given McCreery the symbolic key to the Town of Garner. Some McCreery’s fans visited the store, Lowe’s Foods, just to see where the American Idol finalist worked as a cashier. A few fans drove by his house to see where he lived.

Apparently, the love shown by Garner to Scotty McCreery, the homecoming American Idol finalist, had made McCreery teary-eyed.
