As featured on Fox on Thursday night, Joshua Ledet was voted out from the show and the remaining American Idol 2012 Top 2 finalists will be competing with each other on Tuesday, May 22 and Grand Finale will be Wednesday, May 23.

On Wednesday night, the American Idol 2012 Top 3 finalists sang three songs each, with Joshua receiving a standing ovation after he sang “I’d Rather Go Blind” by Etta James in Round 1, while Jessica received mixed reactions after she complained of having sore throat before the competition.

Meanwhile, Phillip, Jessica, and Joshua started the Thursday show by singing together The Beatles song “Got To Get You Into My Life”, after videos of each of their hometown concerts were shown on screen.

Apparently, Joshua was the first one to be called on center stage and mentor Jimmy Iovine gave his thoughts on his earlier performances, noting that he was good that night but not at his best, with Lisa Marie Presley later singing her new single “You Ain’t Seen Nothing Yet”.

Next on center stage was Jessica Sanchez, with Jimmy telling her he was looking for more than what she showed off on Wednesday night, although Steven Tyler praised her after she sang Aerosmith‘s “I Don’t Want To Miss A Thing”.

Right after Adam Lambert sang his “Never Close Our Eyes”, Jimmy told Phillip he thought singing “Beggin'” was a great job and that his sound is becoming more and more original, but noted that his rendition of “Disease” was a not strong enough. Nevertheless, he praised Phillip for his performance of “We’ve Got Tonight”.

On the last part of the show, Joshua Ledet was announced as the eliminated finalist and therefore Jessica Sanchez, who was the first one announced as safe, and Phillip Phillips will be competing against each other for the American Idol Season 11 crown.
