The American Idol 2011 Top11 elimination night was held on March 24, 2011, Thursday at Fox, with Casey Abrams having the lowest voted but was saved, and there will be double elimination next week.

All the top 11 finalists performed Motown songs on Wednesday night, including that from Lionel Ritchie, Smokey Robinson, Stevie Wonder, and Martha and the Vandellas, with the video below of Casey Abrams as he sang “I Heard It Through The Grapevine” by Marvin Gaye.

Apparently, Stevie Wonder sang ‘Happy Birthday’ to Steven Tyler, who turns 63 on Saturday, while Sugarland and Jennifer Hudson performed on stage in between breaks.

Later, wrestler Hulk Hogan showed up and slams Ryan Seacrest to the audience, as he announced that he is safe and healthy, and later revealed that Paul McDonald and James Durbin are both safe.

Nevertheless, Thia Megia, Stefano Langone and Casey Abrams went to the bottom three, but Thia was later saved. In the end, Casey Abrams had the lowest votes but was saved by the judges.

Casey Abrams collapsed on the floor upon learning that he was saved, and sang again “I Don’t Need No Doctor” but did not finish the song.

As reported earlier, Casey Abrams was hospitalized and was not able to join the elimination round when Ashthon Jones was eliminated.

The American Idol 2011 Top11 finalists will have a tour, while two of them will be eliminated next week.
