Alexa Meade, an artist from Washington, D.C., creates photos that can be mistaken for paintings, according to reports by several international news sites on Wednesday, October 26, 2011.

Meade explains that with her technique, she was able create photographs that resembles painting without using computer software like Photoshop or GIMP. She revealed that she does not use a two dimensional canvas to paint her picture, instead, she paints using 3D space.

Below is Alexa Meade’s revelation behind her painting-like photo.

Instead of painting a picture on a two dimensional canvas, I paint directly on top of my subjects in three dimensional space. The photographs of the painted scenes look like flat paintings without the assistance of Photoshop or digital manipulation.
