Alaska missing musher Melanie Gould found alive and safe

Melanie Gould, the Talkeetna musher who was reportedly missing since Wednesday, June 1, 2011 was found alive and safe.

According to Alaska Dispatch on Saturday, June 11, 2011, Melanie Gould was found that noon in the area of Cantwell, alive but “tired, hungry and cold”.

Alaska State Troopers spokeswoman Megan Peters also confirmed at the report that Gould was found in Cantwell and was being transferred to Mat-Su Regional Hospital.

However, Peters refused to reveal additional information and that Melanie Gould who would decide later if she want to talk to the media on what happened to her.

“GOOD NEWS: Melanie has been found and she is alive and safe. I know you want details but I’m not giving you anything right now until we know more. But she is alive. she is safe.” A post at Facebook entitled “Have You Seen Melanie Gould?” wrote, which was created by her friends.

However, the Facebook page, which has now more than 3,200 friends, also noted Gould’s story is not a TV show that every detail should be disclosed to the public and requested to respect her privacy.

Gould, 34, was said to have failed to report for work at the Talkeetna Roadhouse on Monday, May 30, 2011 and was reportedly last seen the next day, buying gas and bottled water at a Talkeetna gas station.

Apparently, her truck also went missing and her dogs were left attended, which her friends told reports that it is unlikely that Gould would do.
