Alabama Election Results 2010 Update: Robert Bentley wins as Governor

The Republicans have dominated the 2010 Alabama elections as all incumbent Republicans won their race for the House of Representative. Incumbent Republican Alabama Senator Richard Shelby was given a fresh mandate as he is re-elected again. Shelby won over Democratic candidate, William Barnes. Shelby is a long time Alabama Senator since 1987. Republicans and Spencer Bachus of Districts 1 and District 6 run unopposed in their respective Districts. Alabama State Representative Robert Bentley won as Governor of Alabama. He defeated Democratic candidate Commissioner of Agriculture and Industries Ron Sparks.

The only Democrat winner in Alabama is Terri Sewell, who won the 7th District of Alabama. Sewell served as a former staff of many known politicians such as Senator Howell Heflin of the Alabama State Senate and Representative Richard Shelby of the United States House of Representatives. She is a former Law Clerk for the Honorable Chief Judge U.W. Clemon, Alabama Northern District, United States District Court.
