As noted at US sites on Thursday, Al Gore spoke on Current TV for the post-debate analysis and said that the high altitude in Denver, which was nicknamed the Mile High City, caused President Obama‘s lackluster performance during the said debate.

“I’m going to say something controversial here. Obama arrived in Denver at 2 p.m. today, just a few hours before the debate started. Romney did his debate prep in Denver. When you go to 5,000 feet, and you only have a few hours to adjust. I don’t know… Maybe.” Al Gore said, who is also Current TV‘s co-founder and the Chairman of the Board.

“I just came from LA the same day. You know what I did? I drank two cups of coffee coming out here.” Current TV host Cenk Uygur said, while comedian and political commentator John Fugelsang, who is also on the show, somehow agreed with Mr. Gore‘s theory.

“It’s really different. The first time I ever did stand-up in Denver I had the same exact effect. I flew in that day and when your lungs aren’t acclimated to that kind of air, yeah, it makes you drawn, it makes you off. The president had an off night.” Fugelsang said. Denver‘s official height is 5,280 feet above sea level.

According to the CNN poll as who won the debate, 67% of the debate watchers said they believed that Mitt Romney won and only 25% said that President Obama beat Romney. In addition, 82% said that Romney performed better than expected and 60% said that Obama did worse than expected.
