An air show disaster in Iowa, that killed a Texas pilot, was reportedly caught on video during the Quad-City Air Show in Davenport on Saturday, September 1, 2012.

Reports say that the pilot, identified as Glenn Smith, was a retired technology entrepreneur from Dallas. Smith appeared to have lost control of his Soviet L-39 plane during a three-jet maneuver.

The home video shows the three jets tightly switching places in mid-air before making a straight down dive.

One of the witness told ABC News that “He went down into the ground and he burst into flames… I was instantly in tears because I knew more than likely he didn’t survive.”

The plane wreckage was found in an alfalfa field, near the air show venue.

Initial report by Assistant Davenport Police Chief Don Schaeffer say that Smith “never had an opportunity to come out of it.”

As of posting, authorities are still investigating the real cause of the plane crash.
