As noted at E!News on Monday, February 25, 2013, they have confirmed that Ben Affleck shaved his beard in a hallway at Craig‘s restaurant in West Hollywood, during the Oscars-post party celebrating the winning of “Argo.” Affleck, 40, was not nominated for Best Director, and Ang Lee won the award for “Life of Pi.”

“He did it to mark the end of a chapter. It had that ceremonial quality to it.” A source was quoted in the report. The last time Affleck won an Oscar award was in 1998, where he and Matt Damon shared the Best Original Screenplay for the blockbuster movie “Goodwill Hunting.”

“I’d just like to say, I was here 15 years ago, or something and I had no idea what I was doing. I stood out here in front of you all and really just a kid. I went out and I never thought I would be back here.” Ben Affleck said on his emotional speech this Sunday upon receiving the Oscars Best Picture award.

“You have to work harder than you think you possibly can. You can’t hold grudges — it’s hard, but you can’t hold grudges. And it doesn’t matter how you get knocked down in life; that’s going happen. All that matters is you’ve got to get up.” Affleck added, who almost broke into tears while speaking.

“I want to thank you for working on our marriage for 10 Christmases. It’s good. It is work but it’s the best kind of work and there’s no one I’d rather work with.” Affleck said, referring to his wife Jennifer Garner, whom she married in June 2005. They have three children: two daughters, Violet and Seraphina, and a son, Samuel.
