As noted at The Hollywood Reporter on Friday, October 14, 2011, ABC canceled the ‘Charlie’s Angels’ reboot apparently due to poor reviews and low ratings against competitors every Thursday, 8 pm (ET).

According to the report, the decision to cancel ‘Charlie’s Angels’, with a Miami set up, comes after four episodes have been aired, with the remaining episodes still for airing in the coming weeks.

The ‘Charlie’s Angels’ remake cast includes Rachael Taylor, Minka Kelly and Annie Ilonzeh, with Victor Garber as the voice of Charlie. Smallville creators Alfred Gough and Miles Millar were hired to write for the project.

Apparently, ‘Charlie’s Angels’ had 8.7 million viewers and a 2.1 rating during its premiere last September 22, the 35th anniversary of the debut of the original show.

However, the ratings drastically fell in the next two episodes although the last one last Thursday was said to have increased a bit, to a 1.3 rating, still far from being expected.

As of this writing, ABC has not announced any official statement on this matter and what would be its replacement. But on Thursday, Oct. 27, ABC was noted to be airing The Great Pumpkin, Charlie Brown as replacement for the defunct show.
