A $600,000 a month lease house Beverly Hills has been listed recently, as shown in the photo below. But before people would raise their eyebrows for the whopping price, the huge mansion for rent also has a rich history to tell. It was the honeymoon spot for John F. Kennedy and Jacqueline Kennedy in the 1950s.
According to Zillow blog on Monday, February 25, 2013, the property is located at 1011 N Beverly Dr, Beverly Hills, California 90210. It was built in 1927 for banking executive Milton Getz, and was bought by newspaper publishing icon William Randolph Hearst in 1946 and lived there with Marion Davies.
As noted in the report, the luxurious mansion, which was also used in various movies such as “The Godfather” and “The Bodyguard,” is an H-shaped home that combines both Italian and Spanish influence in its architecture, sitting in a lot size of 153,786 square feet (or around 3.7 acres).
Based on the description, the $600,000 a month lease home has more than 50,000 square feet of living space, 17 bedrooms and 29 bathrooms, a 50-foot entry hall, a 22-foot-high ceilings in the living room, and a two-storey library. It is also being considered as one of houses in the city with the longest private driveways.
Among the amenities of the H-shaped residence include having a fireplace surround moved down from Hearst Castle in San Simeon, a billiard room with a 1888 Brunswick pool table, guest suites, staff accommodations, a gym with massage and spa facilities, and a lighted tennis court with indoor bar and media center.
As noted by Los Angeles Times, the expensive property is currently owned by attorney and investor Leonard M. Ross, who filed for bankruptcy in 2010. Ross stayed on the mansion for 30 years, and made some expansions on it, including adding more than 20,000 square feet of living space on four levels.
At one point, the former Hearst property went on sale for $165 million, and was priced at $95 million in 2010. Its most recent selling price is $115 million and listed by Jeffrey Hyland and Brandon Wolsic of Vires Real Estate Group, which can be found at HiltonHyland.com.
But if you want to do some math on how much is a $600,000 a month lease, it will be around $19,355 a day for a month with 31 days, which will end up to around $806.4 per hour.
