A 50-vehicle crash has reportedly closed down a major highway in Ohio on Monday, January 21, 2013.
There were no reported casualty related to the multiple car pileup at the exit of Ohio 122 in Middletown.
Local 12 reported that the 50-vehicle crash incident happened around 11:30 a.m.. Authorities reportedly shutdown the south bound of Interstate 75 for several hours while the north bound remained open. As of posting, reports say that the south bound of I-75 from Middletown and Monroe has been reopened to traffic.
About 18 individuals were reportedly injured during the accident. They were immediately taken to the nearest local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
Officials of the Ohio State Highway Patrol led by Sergeant James Russell are now investigating the incident that involved about 50 vehicles. As of posting, no official report has been issued by authorities related to the incident.
