Guinness World Records declared a 25,189 Santas-Memorabilia as the world’s largest Santa Claus collection, as published on its official website on Thursday.

Jean-Guy Laquerre from Canada now holds the title of having the world’s largest Santa Claus collection, as officially declared by Guinness World Records.

As featured at AOL News, the 74-year-old retired geography teacher from outside Montreal devoted all his time to his thousands of pieces from his Santa Claus, who now has an invitation-only exhibit in his house from December 15, 2010 to January 15, 2011.

“I’ve been collecting since 1988,” Laquerre said. “Various people give me these items as gifts. I purchase them here and there, and then friends will give them to me.”

“To be included in the Guinness World Records book is a big honor. It’s like being on Olympic medal winner or the Canadians winning the Stanley Cup.” The Santa Claus collector added.

Incidentally, the new record coincided with the release of the new ‘Guinness World Records: At Your Fingertips’ app for iPad.

“The new app includes more than 150 photographs, 140 records, 20 stunning video clips, and three exclusive games.” Guinness was quoted on its statement.

“The fact that I will be included on the new iPad app is amazing. Kids are reading less nowadays, so the iPad will help kids get acquainted with my record and give it a world of vision.” Jean-Guy Laquerre said, adding that he has now the best Christmas present he could ever wish for.
