According to reports, he first tasted Big Mac in the 1970s, nine of it on May 17, 1972. He was honored at a McDonald’s store in his hometown at Fond du Lac, Wisconsin after eating his 25,000th Big Mac, 39 years later after his first encounter with the burger.

Gorske has been recognized by Guinness World Records three years ago. Reports said that Gorske has been keeping a journal to keep track of his count. He also keeps every receipt and cartons to verify his count.

Gorske eats 2 Big Macs a day on the average. His last Big Mac-less day was said to be during Thanksgiving 2000 when he forgot to keep some stocks and the restaurant was closed.

“I plan on eating Big Macs until I die,” Gorske was quoted saying. “I have no intentions of changing. It’s still my favourite food. Nothing has changed in 39 years. I look forward to it every day.”

“I think 25,000 is a pretty awesome number. I’ll never live long enough to eat 50,000,” Gorske reportedly said of his milestone.
