As noted by NASCAR on its official website on Tuesday morning, Danica Patrick crashed her green car on Lap 2 of her Daytona 500 debut on Monday and finished the race on the 38th spot, wherein Matt Kenseth won the race.

According to the report, Patrick was involved in the collision of cars along with other drivers including Jimmie Johnson, David Ragan, Kurt Busch, Elliott Sadler and others in Turn 1 of the second lap.

“The wreck was triggered when Elliott Sadler shoved Johnson coming out of the trioval.” A statement reads at NASCAR.com blog on Monday during their live coverage, with Patrick‘s car being struck on the rear part.

Apparently, the 29-year old American car race driver did not seem to be hurt and returned to the race after her crew made extensive repairs to her car; whose car was also wrecked in final lap of the 150-mile qualifying race as well as in Lap 49 of the Nationwide Series race.

“I would have loved to have run up there. I would have loved to have got the experience when you actually were racing for positions as opposed to just feeling it out. But I truly believe everything happens for a reason.” Patrick was quoted telling to reporters after the race.

“I mean, I was pretty speechless. I didn’t really know what to say. I just pretty much kept my mouth shut and just sat there. Just breathe.” Patrick added, whose car was swerved down to the infield grass.

Later, it was Juan Pablo Montoya who crashed into a jet dryer loaded in a truck while trying to catch up with the rest when he lost control, and the two vehicles went into flames that caused the race to be postponed for around 2 hours.
