As aired at ABC on Thursday night, Blake Shelton won three major awards including the Entertainer of the Year award and Male Vocalist of the Year, while Miranda Lambert won the Female Vocalist of the Year award. The husband and wife also shared the Song of the Year award as songwriters for Miranda‘s “Over You.”

On Thursday morning at ABC‘s ‘Good Morning America’, the Musical Event of the Year winner was announced and went to the Kenny Chesney-Tim McGraw duet of ‘Feel Like A Rock Star’. Toby Keith was announced the winner of the Music Video of the Year award for ‘Red Solo Cup’.

The 2012 CMA Awards night kicked off by a performance of Jason Aldean, who sang his single “The Only Way I Know” and dedicated it to New York and New Jersey, which were most affected by Hurricane Sandy. He was joined onstage by present heartthrobs Luke Bryan and Eric Church, who had five nominations.

Event hosts Carrie Underwood and Brad Paisley sang a parody song of “Moves Like Jagger” with “Moves Like Haggard.” Carrie later made fun of Taylor Swift‘s rumored romance with Conor Kennedy, as Taylor‘s “We Are Never, Ever Getting Back Together” was played, but the camera was not focused on the singer.

Among the other performers that night include Tim McGraw, Miranda Lambert, The Band Perry, Eli Young Band, Zac Brown Band, Eric Church, Taylor Swift, Faith Hill, Brad Paisley, Luke Bryan, Little Big Town, Carrie Underwood, and Lady Antebellum, who paid tribute to Willie Nelson with “Always On My Mind.”
