2 Bangladesh trains crash kills more than 10, wounds 50

Two trains crash in Bangladesh killed more than 10 people, and wounded about 50 others, according to international news sites on Wednesday.

According to recent reports, a fast moving train in Bangladesh crashed in a parked train that caused more than 10 casualties and more than 50 others were badly injured.

ATN Bangla television station apparently reported that 10 people died and about 100 others were injured, while the United News of Bangladesh agency announced that at least 19 people were killed.

Reports say that the accident apparently happened at around 5 p.m. local time in a railway station at Narsingdi, 40 kilometers (25 miles) northeast of the capital Dhaka.

Local officials told the news that the victims were immediately brought to the nearest hospitals.

Hundreds of people flocked the area hoping to find their loved ones boarding the train, while rescue trains were sent to remove the wrecked trains.

“We fear there are more dead people,” Police district superintendent Mohammed Akkasuddin apparently told the news, as investigation is still going on what might have caused the train collision.

The two trains were said to be Chittagong bound ‘Mahangar Godhuli‘ and a Dhaka bound local train ‘Chattala Express‘.
