A 161-word name, believed to be the world’s longest, will replace the name of Dawn McManus. The move by McManus is meant to raise funds for her Red Dreams charity, according to a BBC report last May 3, 2012. The 161-word name was registered by McManus through The Legal Deed Poll Service, which confirms that McManus‘ new name is the “longest one on record.”

The McManus couple, Dawn and Ian, set up Red Dreams charity in 2008, after the death of their son. The charity aims to help 11-19 year olds who want to pursue creative careers like acting, singing or film-making.

McManus explained that “Officially I should be called Red, but I appreciate some people will find it hard to embrace the change.”

She said that her husband is “not bothered I’m losing the McManus. He’ll get used to it.”

Below is McManus‘ new complete 161-word name.
