An amount of $16.4 million cable bill from Time Warner was reportedly billed to Daniel DeVirgilio, an engineer at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base in Southwest Ohio.

According to international reports, DeVirgilio received a notice that his credit card payment to Time Warner was not accepted due to insufficient funds. DeVirgilio said that his usual monthly payment which was automatically deducted to his credit card runs about $80 only.

“All I want to do is watch March Madness. I didn’t really expect to pay $16 million to watch the Sweet 16,” DeVirgilio was quoted saying.

Meanwhile, Time Warner Cable Southwest Ohio officials said that the $16.4 million cable bill figure was just a human error. It was said that their employee mistyped the figures owed which caused the company’s automated system to generate the letter.

“We apologize for the inconvenience that it caused. We are going to work with the customer to get this resolved,” the spokesman said.
