Emirates Palace Hotel in Abu Dhabi features the 11-million-dollar Christmas tree. It was said that it might be the new world’s most expensive Christmas tree which was inaugurated on Wednesday, December 15, 2010, international news reported.

The 13-metre Christmas tree was valued over 11 million dollars. The Christmas tree costs itself about 10,000 dollars. However, the gold bracelets, watches and necklaces plus a total of 181 diamonds, emeralds, pearls, sapphires and other precious stones draped around the tree’s branches are the reasons for its record value.

According to reports, Hans Olbertz, general manager of Emirates Palace Hotel said that the Christmas tree would probably an entry to the Guinness Book of World Records. They are planning to contact Guinness Book of World Records for a possible bid as the world’s most expensive Christmas tree.

The current title holder for the most expensive Christmas tree in the world costs $10.8-million tree put in 2002 in Tokyo with 83 pieces of jewelry from Piaget Japan.

The 11-million-dollar Christmas tree of Emirates Palace Hotel will be on display until December 31, 2010.
