According to Billboard.com as of June 1, 2011, Lady Gaga has officially got the #1 album after selling 1,108,000 copies of Born This Way.

Similar reports reveal that the album has indeed the biggest sales since 50 Cent’s ‘The Massacre’ being released in 2005.

Apparently, reports reveal that the Born This Way album has been successfully promoted in several channels. Reports cited that one could hear it through FarmVille, in Google Chrome commercial or through a special version of Tap Tap Revenge.

Additionally reported, anyone could purchase it for 99 cents on Amazon.com, pick it up with a non-fat double latte at Starbucks or get it at Best Buy with the purchase of a mobile phone and a two-year service contract.

As further reported, Lady Gaga even tirelessly promoted the album weeks leading to its release by guesting to several shows such as Saturday Night Live, The Oprah Winfrey Show, Late Show, The Ellen DeGeneres Show and American Idol.

As one of the related report mentions, none of this should really surprise you for no album in recent memory has been promoted to the degree that Born This Way has.
