As reported, May 20, 2011, by various entertainment news sites, Disney sensation Selena Gomez is under heavy criticism after featuring a horse, painted in pink, for her upcoming video.

Apparently, Gomez, 18, on location at Malibu, California for a video shoot of her single, “Love You Like a Love Song,” was seen yesterday with a stead colored in pink.

Allegedly, this rapidly drew disapproval from another singer- Pink, of Stupid Girls. It was reported that Twitter became the battle ground for this two as PETA (People for the Ethical Treatment of Animals) advocate Pink lambasted the “Wizards of Waverly Place” star.

Purportedly, Pink, who has huge followers on the social networking site, tweeted: ‘If there are any animal activists around Malibu-at Leo Cabrillo State beach, there are horses being painted for a stupid music video. Shame.’
‘Artists should be more aware and responsible for their actions,’ the 31-year-old added.

However, Pink’s pronouncement agitated the swarm of Selena fans that were quick to defend their idol.

Nonetheless, Pink held her ground and further tweeted, ‘Whether u r a fan of mine or whomEVER’S, I won’t stop speaking out about animal cruelty.”I’ve taken responsibility in the past, so should she.’

On the other hand, as released in a statement, a representative from the record company was firm that no animals were harmed during filming.

As quoted in People magazine, Gomez’s spokesperson said, ‘It was important to the Production Company, Record Label and Ms. Gomez that no animals were harmed and all proper precautions were taken.’ ‘A non toxic, vegetable based powder paint was applied via an airbrush and removed with water. An official from the Humane Society was on set supervising’ the spokesperson added.
