“Like”: Baby girl’s new name given by Facebook fanatic Israeli parents

According to Israeli media, as of May 16, 2011, An Israeli couple chooses “Like” to be their baby girl’s name, getting the idea from social networking site, Facebook.

Apparently the Israeli couple, Lior Adler and his wife Vardit, was looking for a name that is “modern and innovative”.

It’s notable that Facebook permits users to “like” their friends’ posts, pictures and statuses.

According to reports, such uniqueness is one key reason why Lior named his daughter “Like” and that no one else in Israel has the same name.

Maariv, an Israeli Newspaper, quoted Lior saying, “In our opinion it’s the modern equivalent of the name Ahava [Love]; It’s just my way of saying to my fantastic daughter, ‘Love‘.”

According to Haaretz, another newspaper, the most famous names in Israel today are Noa, Maya and Tamar.
