“Harry Potter” final movie makes $92.1 million, now the biggest single-day gross of all time in US

Warner Bros.‘ “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” movie is now the biggest single-day gross of all time film in the US after earning $92.1 million on Friday, July 16, 2011.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, the final “Harry Potter” film made a whooping $92.1 million on Friday alone, and beat “The Twilight Saga: New Moon“, which made $72.7 million on its first day.

In addition, the last “Harry Potter” movie also earned $37.6 million from 43 countries for a two-day total of $82.5 million worldwide from Wednesday to Thursday, with Friday data not yet available.

Earlier reports revealed that “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 2” made an astonishing $43.5 million earned at the US box office in midnight runs, and has earned $126 million worldwide.

As of of Thursday, “Deathly Hallows 2” is 42 % ahead of “Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince” by 42 percent in overseas earnings and is nearly 39 % ahead of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1“.

With all the previous seven “Harry Potter” films since 2001 grossing to $6.4 billion worldwide, the “Harry Potter Deathly Hallows Part 2“, which has the first 3D offer, is being expected to be the biggest earner.
