“America’s Got Talent” Sixth Season Winner: Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. earns crown over finalists

Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr. was ultimately named the winner of the sixth season of NBC reality show America’s Got Talent, as announced by several entertainment news sites, September 14, 2011.

According to reports, Landau Eugene Murphy, Jr., a former car washer, won a $1,000,000 prize and a headline gig in Las Vegas along with the other top ten finalists.

Landau was revealed as the winner after a positively received performance of “My Way“, a song popularized by Frank Sinatra.

Several reports claim that Murphy, also a jazz singer from Logan County, West Virginia, was immediately overcome with emotion as members of his family wildly hugged each other.

Murphy was even reportedly quoted saying in disbelief, “Thank you so much for supporting me and believing in me, and helping me believe in myself on national television in front of the whole world.”

Based from the reported finals elimination table, Silhouettes Performers got the runner-up award while Team iLuminate and POPLYFE received the third and fourth place respectively.
