Zulqarnain Haider, Pakistan wicketkeeper retires from International CricketBy Alex Jusi Madlangbayan on Nov 9, 2010 in Sports, World •
Zulqarnain Haider has retired from International Cricket, according to international news sites. Last Friday, Zulqarnain hit the winning runs against South Africa.
The Pakistani team player decided to retire from playing cricket due to reported death threats.
Haider revealed that before the game against South Africa, he was being forced to fix the fourth and fifth one-day games which he refused. Instead, Haider did not play in the deciding game which the South Africa won and a 3-2 series victory.
The Pakistani player believes that he has made the right decision of getting out of international cricket rather than being a “part of any corruption in the series or go against my country.”
Haider felt that he will be safe in London and still undecided whether to request political refuge in Britain.
