Health Canada is recalling wooden bunk beds due to faulty structure, which may cause collapse of the bed unit, as reported by news sites May 7, 2011.
Dorel and CPSC have received reports of bed collapse due to side rail splits. This has caused physical injuries to users.
There are about 22,000 bunk beds sold in Canada and 440,000 in the US in several stores. The recalled bunk beds’ model numbers are WM1848R2 and WM1848R2C.
Dorel advises consumers to stop using the defective products and get a repair kit from Dorel Canada by calling 1-800-295-1980.
Consumers can also visit the Dorel website, djgusa.com, for further inquiries.
