By Angel Cuala on Oct 4, 2012 in International, Politics, United States, Weird •Marty Arps, the wide-eyed Chipotle worker who posed with US Republican presidential candidate Mitt Romney on Tuesday, October 2, 2012 as shown in the photo below, is now going viral and has been featured in various famous sites such as Gawker and Buzzfeed.
According to The Daily on Wednesday, Mitt Romney went to Mexican grill Chipotle in Denver on the day before his first political debate showdown with US President Barack Obama. He posed with some of the restaurant employees, including the manager, Marty Arps.
“It’s a facial expression I do when I’m excited. I [did that] when I met Nicki Minaj. It’s like, ‘Ah, it’s them, right there in front of you!’ They’re not from another world.’” Marty Arps told the paper, merely hours after the photo was taken.
“All of a sudden you see these black SUVs come up really quick and I thought we were about to get robbed,” the 20-year old Chipotle manager added, noting that Mitt Romney stood in line and waited for his turn like a regular customer.
The wide-eyed Chipotle worker said that the 65-year old GOP presidential hopeful ordered two carnitas bowls with guacamole that costs $18.25 and pulled out a $20-bill and placed the $1.75 change inside the tip jar. Mitt Romney shook his hand and thanked him, with Marty Arps noting that there was nothing political.
