US Airways Flight 787 Diverted To Maine Due To Passenger’s Suspicious Claim

US Airways flight 787 traveling from Paris to North Carolina was diverted to Maine on May 22, 2012. CNN reported that a French passenger handed a note to a flight attendant saying that a device has been surgically implanted inside her.
With 179 passengers and nine crew members on board, the plane landed safely at the Bangor International Airport in the northeastern U.S. state of Maine around noon. Doctors boarded US Airways flight 787 and examined the woman but found no sign of recent scars of surgeries.
The identity of the woman has not been disclosed. Reports said that the woman is in her mid-20s to mid-30s and appeared to be mentally unstable. She is traveling alone without checked baggage, and intended to stay in the U.S. for 10 days.
