Tropical storm “Falcon” leads to twenty-six domestic flights cancellation in the Ninoy Aquino International Airport terminals 2 and 3 at around 10:00 a.m (local time) on Thursday, June 23, 2011, as reported by several Philippine news sites that day.

Department of Science and Technology (DOST) Undersecretary Graciano Yumul apparently mentioned through reports that “Falcon” could develop into a severe tropical storm.

Similar reports reveal that the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical & Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) spotted “Falcon” around 5 a.m. at 250 kilometers (km) northeast of Virac, Catanduanes, moving west northwest at 19 kilometers per hour (kph).

The storm is likewise packing maximum sustained winds of 65 kph near the center and gusts of up to 80 kph.
