Shalani Soledad wedding: Shalani marries Roman Romulo (Video)

Manila, Philippines – Valenzuela councilor Shalani Soledad and Pasig Rep. Roman Romulo got married on Sunday, January 22, 2012 at the St. Benedict Church in Silang, Cavite, with the highlights shown in the news video below.

As noted at local news on Sunday early evening, Shalani Soledad and Roman Romulo tied the knot via a simple wedding ceremony, with the bride wearing an off-shoulder Inno Sotto wedding gown.

According to reports, Foreign Secretary Alberto Romulo and his wife Lovely, Roman Romulo‘s parents, arrived first at the church, followed by the groom who entertained some reporters before the wedding.

“It took 44 years for the Lord to give me a favor. I am very happy, [I’m] excited, a little nervous.” Roman Romulo was quoted telling to reporters, who wore a simple suit and aboard a white Mercedes Benz.

Soledad, 31, reportedly arrived at 5:30 p.m. (local time) and marched the altar while a slow version of the Bruno Mars song “Just the Way You Are” is being played in the background, and was accompanied by her uncle Mon Soledad.

The Roman Romulo-Shalani Soledad wedding was officiated by His Eminence Cardinal Gaudencio Rosales and the couple was officially pronounced as man and wife at around 6:45 p.m.

Among the 22 principal sponsors in the wedding includes Senator Panfilo Lacson, Foreign Affairs chief Albert del Rosario, PLDT and TV-5 chairman Manuel Pangilinan, San Miguel Corp. president Ramon Ang, and clothing tycoon Ben Chan.

The best man was Jun Cabangon and the matron of honor was Joy Marie Castellvi, a childhood friend of Soledad, and the wedding reception was held at the Nuvali Eco Center in Sta. Rosa, Laguna.

Apparently, President Benigno “Noynoy” Aquino III (PNoy), Shalani‘s former sweetheart, was not among the guests although he was invited by the couple, but wished them earlier a happy married life.
