The Screen Actors Guild or SAG Awards 2011 winners were not a surprise, as most people expected the “The King’s Speech” to take home most of the prizes, Entertainment sites disclosed January 31, 2011.
One of the most dramatic triumphs was that of Christian Bale who won Best Supporting Actor for his role in the movie “The Fighter,” who incidentally was celebrating his birthday. The SAG also bestowed to Ernest Borgnine, the SAG’s Life Achievement Award for his outstanding contribution to the movie industry.
Natalie Portman for her role in “The Black Swan,” won Best Actress. She was teary-eyed and her voice trembled as she received her award on stage.
“The Kings Speech” earned also various nominations to the prestigious Academy Awards which will be given out this month of February.
