Renault Twizy Electric Car Unveiled and Priced at 2011 Barcelona Motor Show

The final versions of Twizy model, Renault‘s electric car with lithium ion batteries, have been unveiled at the 2011 Barcelona Motor Show, several automobile news sites reported on Sunday.

The Twizy model is available with two engines to choose from and its price starts at €6,990 for the Renault Twizy 45, reports said. The Renault Twizy 45 was said to be powered by a 5hp motor and can be driven without a driving license in some countries.

Meanwhile, two versions of the Twizy are on display at the Barcelona Motor Show. Both powered by a 20hp motor, Urban and Technic, the tax-paid prices start from €7,690 and €8,490 respectively. According to reports, both versions have a monthly battery lease of about €45 (tax inclusive).

Due to go on sale at the end of 2011 in Europe, customers can now pre-reserve their Twizy online at www.renault-ze.com. A €20 deposit is required on reservation. Customers who pre-reserve will be contacted on priority basis when the car goes on sale, reports said.
