The quidditch magical game in Harry Potter movies becomes a reality with the upcoming “Quidditch World Cup 2011,” which would be held on November 12 to 13, 2011 in New York. This was disclosed by US news sites, October 18, 2011.

Quidditch is reportedly becoming a favorite sport in school campuses, with the original set-up of the game invented by author J.K.Rowling; the golden snitch is still part of the “muggles’” game. Apparently, the winner would still be the team that is able to catch the snitch, while team members “ride” in their broomsticks.

Meanwhile, according to ChestnutHillPatch, October 18, the Chestnut Hill College’s Slytherin has won the 2nd Annual Philadelphia Brotherly Love Quidditch Cup, which was held on Saturday, October 15 at its campus.

More teams, such as New Orleans’ Loyola University, are being organized all throughout the U.S. in time for the Quidditch World Cup 2011.
